Bill de Blasio has reportedly decided on a person to be the next New York City schools chancellor. My Fox NY is reporting that multiple outlets are indicating that Carmen Farina, 70, could be the next person tasked with leading the city's schools.

Farina is a former teacher, principal, and superintendent. She will have her hands full as the next schools chancellor, as she will have to negotiate a new contract with the teachers union among other major tasks.

Update: Farina was officially announced Monday as the city's next schools chancellor. According to the New York Post, Farina said her first priority will be to get parents more engaged with their kids schools. Farina also noted that she will review all the policies currently in place before deciding what to change.
