A Russian tourist who scaled the Brooklyn Bridge over the weekend to take pictures is being held on $5,000 bail.
His defense lawyer, Paul Liu, told the judge that Yaroslav Kolchin doesn’t anticipate making bail anytime soon.
The incident is the second security breach at the bridge in the past month. Back in July, two German men were able to replace American flags on the bridge with white flags.
“You can hold me accountable and Commissioner Bratton accountable,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said. “We are in the process of making changes in the way we approach the bridges that are our responsibility.”
Kolchin reportedly told police that he climbed the bridge for “fun.”
