Joan Hamburg spoke with mayoral candidate and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn Wednesday on WOR 710. Joan asked Quinn about a new poll from NBC 4 New York/Wall Street Journal and conducted by Marist College, showing Anthony Weiner in first place ahead of Quinn in the Democratic mayoral primary.

Weiner had previously polled in second place behind Quinn after announcing his candidacy back in May. However, Weiner received 25 percent of the votes from registered Democratic voters compared to Quinn’s 20 percent in the latest poll. This most recent poll's results have surprised many, who thought Weiner's sexting scandal would have made him a long shot in the race.

What was Quinn's response to the latest poll numbers? "There's one poll that matters and that's on Election Day," Quinn said on "The Joan Hamburg Show." Quinn didn't seem fazed by the most recent numbers telling Joan Hamburg, "I'm incredibly confident that on primary day and Election Day I'm going to win."

Listen below to Christine Quinn's thoughts on Anthony Weiner moving ahead of her in the most recent Democratic mayoral poll.
