On Sunday a gay couple walking and enjoying the city was attacked outside Madison Square Garden in broad daylight by rowdy New York Knicks fans. The victims, a 28-year-old and 22-year-old, were allegedly pushed to the ground and beaten by a group of men shouting homophobic slurs.

According to police, the couple was assaulted on eighth avenue between West 34th and West 35th around 5pm on Sunday during the Knicks and Indiana Pacers NBA playoff game. Police released survellance photos of one of the suspected assailants. The person of interest is described as standing around 6 feet tall with brown hair and a tattoo on his left forearm. He was last seen in a white t-shirt, white sneakers, jeans, and a Knicks #7 jersey.

Both victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital where one victim was treated for a broken nose and headaches while the other victim was given a cast for a broken right wrist according to DNAinfo New York. Police are said to also be looking for three other people wanted for questioning in the attack.
