(Lauren Evans) Nathan's Famous, the beloved (and thanks to Hurricane Sandy, beleaguered) hot dog stand of Coney Island caught fire on Saturday morning, requiring 12 fire trucks and 60 responders to tame.

According to an FDNY spokesman, the roof of the restaurant, located at 1310 Surf Avenue, went up in flames around 9:42 a.m. It was brought under control at 10:11 a.m. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation, though Nathan's spokesman George Shea attributed the blaze to construction currently underway.
