(John Del Signore) Amanda Catherine Hein, 26, was watching pay-per-view wrestling at a Pennsylvania sports bar on August 18th when she told her friends she was having back spasms and went to the restroom, where she gave birth. She then allegedly suffocated the newborn and stashed his corpse in the toilet tank. "I cannot get inside this lady's head," Northampton District Attorney John Morganelli said at a press conference yesterday.

Investigators allege that after spending 40 minutes in the restroom, Hein, an Allentown resident, smoked a cigarette outside and returned to her bar seat. One of the male friends accompanying Hein says he noticed that she was bleeding and asked if she needed medical attention. She declined, saying she didn't have medical insurance, and he drove her home. A janitor discovered the dead baby in the toilet tank the next day while trying to determine why the toilet was malfunctioning.

According to the medical examiner, the baby, which was born healthy, died from suffocation. The death has been ruled a homicide, and investigators say they were able to track down Hein through the blood she left behind in the booth that she sat in at Starters Pub. According to the seating chart, Hein was the only woman in the group.

Hein has been charged with homicide and is being held without bail, the Lehigh Valley Express-Times reports. According to court documents, Hein confessed to giving birth to a healthy baby boy and putting it in the toilet tank in a garbage bag from the bathroom. She also said no one knew she was pregnant. If convicted, she could face the death penalty.
