(Max Rivlin-Nadler) A man was hit by falling ice at around 1:30 this afternoon on West 48th street between 5th and 6th avenue.

According to the FDNY, the man sustained a minor head wound and was taken to Cornell Medical Center where he is in stable condition. Witnesses told the Post he was a jewelry shop worker who had been warning passersby about falling ice when he himself was slashed in the face by the frozen projectiles. "I heard the sound of glass breaking and a voice yelling, ‘Somebody help!’” witness Angela Ragouzeos tells the tabloid. "He had to sit down because of shock. The blow was hard. It’s scary… I thought someone had thrown a bottle at him. The last thing he said was, ‘I’m glad it happened to me and not a little old lady."
