(Rebecca Fishbein) The Queens man suspected of fatally stabbing his girlfriend and their two baby daughters this weekend has allegedly confessed to the crime, telling investigators the violent murder was committed out of jealousy.

Miguel Mejia-Ramos, 28, was arrested in Texas Monday night, after investigators suspected him of stabbing girlfriend Deisy Garcia and daughters Daniela Mejia, 2, and Yeslin Mejia, 1, to death in their Jamaica apartment on Sunday. NYPD detectives who traveled down to question Mejia-Ramos say he admitted to the fatal stabbings, and that he had become angry after seeing a photo of Garcia with another man. According to a statement from the Queens District Attorney's Office:

[I]t is alleged that Mejia-Ramos said that after drinking beer at a friend’s house he returned home on Saturday night at about 11 p.m., and went through the phone and Facebook account of his wife and saw a photo of her with another man and he snapped.

He allegedly said he grabbed a knife from the butcher block, which was in the room, and stood over Deisy and his daughters. He said allegedly that Deisy woke up and screamed. He then allegedly stabbed her and she got out of bed and ran to the front of the room and he grabbed another knife and stabbed her again and twisted it in her side and it broke. He then allegedly went back to the girls and Daniela was awake so he picked her up, gave her a hug and a kiss, asked for forgiveness, and put her back on the bed and stabbed her. He then allegedly picked up Yoselin and did the same to her.
