Despite pressure from Democratic leaders, Bill Thompson is vowing to stay in the Democratic mayoral race until all the votes are counted. Bill de Blasio held a rally at Brooklyn Borough Hall on Thursday, receiving support from many of the city's most powerful unions. However, NBC New York reports that as of Thursday evening, Thompson has said he will stay in the race.

According to NBC New York, starting on Monday officials will begin the process of counting nearly 80,000 paper ballots and 20,000 absentee ballots. It’s believed this process will take days, taking the race well into next week.
