Less than a year after Hurricane Sandy ravaged the Jersey Shore, Seaside Park is facing yet another adversity. A fire that broke out at Kohrs Frozen Custard around 2:30pm Thursday afternoon quickly turned into a 10-alarm blaze that has ruined dozens of businesses.
Over four hundred firefighters arrived from nearby NJ towns to help fight the fire, which spread as the wind picked up. Gothamsit reports that as of Friday morning there are still about 100 firefighters working to put out of what’s left of the flames.
According to NJ.com, after Governor Chris Christie witnessed what happened he commented, "I said to my staff I feel like I want to throw up."
