WTVA-TV in Tupelo, Mississippi, had to evacuate the studio and head to the basement in the middle of their tornado coverage Monday afternoon as a large, violent tornado barreled towards the city. The station went off-air for a time but is back up and running in a limited capacity. In a video uploaded to YouTube we can see the WTVA weatherman warning viewers that a twister is in their area. A moment later the graphics screen behind him goes gray and you hear people off-camera telling everyone it's time to head for the basement, which the weatherman does.
