Another class of college seniors will be graduating in just a couple of weeks and entering the workforce, with many likely taking entry level jobs in order to work their way up to their dream gig. But the truth is, not all entry-level jobs are equal. While some have great starting salaries, others pay you next to nothing, and while others will give you plenty of responsibility, some may just have you pushing papers.

So, what are the best entry-level jobs out there? Well, WalletHub set out to discover just that, comparing 109 entry-level positions based on 13 key metrics, including average starting salary, projected job growth by 2026, median tenure with employer and more. 

Topping the list is an Electrical Engineer, which earns a total score of 80.7 out of 100, landing at number two for immediate job opportunity. In fact, Engineers in general seem to be a good career move, with the seven of the Top Ten spots going to some sort of engineering position.

Top Ten Best Entry-Level Jobs

  1. Electrical Engineer
  2. Systems Engineer
  3. Engineer
  4. Environmental Health and Safety Engineer
  5. Hardware Engineer
  6. Web Applications Developer
  7. Electronics Engineer
  8. Industrial Engineer
  9. Architect
  10. Operations Research Analyst

On the flipside, Welder ranks dead last on the list, earning only a 33.51 out of 100, and ranking 102 for job hazards and 103 for growth potential.
