The rumors are true, at least according to the CEO... Macy's has been making plans to build a skyscraper atop its Midtown flagship for the past year-and-a-half.
According to the NYC Patch:
Macy's Chief Executive Officer Jeff Gennette told Bloomberg that the company has been planning the redevelopment of its34th Street flagshipfor the past year and a half, and has already begun working with city officials.
"We hope to walk out of 2019 with a plan that we're then going to bid out," Gennette told Bloomberg.
