The Met Gala Sets COVID Protocols For Its Return

Yesterday in New York City, Mayor, Bill de Blasio announced:

"If you want to participate fully in society, you have to get vaccinated."

The policy will go into effect over the next few weeks and will start being enforced beginning September 13th, just in time for back to school. The mandate is aimed at curbing the recent uptick in cases of the Delta variant by requiring proof-of-vaccination for those who attend gyms, performance events, and indoor dining. This comes a week after Broadway announced that audience and staff must be vaccinated.

With that said, here's what to expect for the Met Gala taking place September 13th:

The major A-lister event will have coronavirus mandates in place. Among the rules for the Gala, all attendees must be vaccinated. Additionally, everyone will have to wear a mask except when eating and drinking.
