Elton John & Britney Spears Drop Video For “Hold Me Closer”

Elton John and Britney Spears’ collaboration “Hold Me Closer” has gotten the video treatment, although the two stars do not appear in the clip.

Instead, the four-minute video features a variety of interpretive dance sequences, which according to a press release portrays, “human embrace, beautifully capturing an immeasurable feeling of intimacy so missing from the world through the turmoil and chaos of recent times.”

The video, shot in Mexico City, was directed by Tanu Muino, who directed Harry Styles’ “As It Was” among other videos.

“Going into this video, I knew there would be a lot of emotional expectations the audience and fans would have,” he says. “With this responsibility, I had to do something different and unexpected. The visuals had to be different. The dance had to be forward-thinking to raise eyebrows and make Elton and Britney proud.”
