Charli XCX Will Drop A Mixtape in 2017

Charli XCX just made a major announcement: not only will she be releasing her third studio album in 2017, she'll be dropping a mixtape, as well. The 24-year-old pop star sat down with Rolling Stone to talk about making an album she can "get f***ed up to" and ended up revealing she's been working on an exciting side project. "I'm doing a mixtape also that will come out before [the album]" she said, adding that she's "been working with lots of fun people on that."

She already worked with Lil Yachty on her lead single "After The Afterparty" from her upcoming album, so we can't wait to see who else she'll be collaborating with. She's worked with Iggy Azaela, Rita Ora, and Ty Dolla Sign, as well.

Charli XCX described her upcoming album as "a champagne shower of badass pop," which is basically the greatest way to describe an album EVER. She told Rolling Stone that she wanted to do something with this album that she's never done before. She wanted to make an album she would want to hear while out at a club. "It was very indulgent in that sense," she revealed. "It's the soundtrack to my nights."

There isn't an official release date for her new album or the upcoming mixtape. All we know is that we can't wait to jam out to both of them.
