Here's Why Chris Evans Says He's Never Had a Bad Breakup

We were pretty bummed to hear one of our fave celeb couples had called it quits back in February. Chris Evans and Jenny Slate were a perfectly quirky match that we totally shipped. As the saying goes, though, all good things must come to an end. It was uplifting to see how these two handled the sad, often messy, situation of breaking up with somebody. Both actors spoke so kindly of each other post-separation it made us believe in the oft used phrase "amicable split" again. For Chris Evans, however, the amicable split is the only kind he's ever been through. In a new interview with Elle Magazine, the Captain America actor said:

I’ve had no bad breakups in my life. Typically, if I see an ex, I give a big hug, and it’s wonderful to catch up. If you’re ever fortunate enough to love someone and have them love you back, it’s worth protecting that. It’s rare that someone can truly know you. And if you’ve broken through that kind of wall, I think it’s important to value that.

We're not totally surprised that this is how Evans handles these awkward situations. His most recent ex, the hilarious and talented Jenny Slate, told New York magazine that "Chris is truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, to the point where sometimes I would look at him and it would kind of break my heart." The actress/comedienne went on to say that one of the world's most handsome men was actually "really vulnerable, and he’s really straightforward. He’s like primary colors. He has beautiful, big, strong emotions, and he’s really sure of them. It’s just wonderful to be around. His heart is probably golden-colored, if you could paint it."

Next time you see your ex, try taking a page out of Chris Evans' book by giving them a big ole hug and catch up. Unless your ex is trash, then definitely don't do that.
