5 Reasons Why You Should Be At NYC Pride This Year

KTU is going to be on a float at NYC Pride this year and we would love it if all of our listeners were there to celebrate with us!

This Sunday, June 25th, we are going to show off our pride and march recognizing this year's theme, "We Are Proud." We are definitely proud to be at Pride this year to show off our love for the LGBT community. Here are the reasons why you should be excited for Pride this year!! ❤️ 💛 💚 💙 💜

5. The Live Broadcast

Have you ever been on something so important that it has to be broadcasted on LIVE TELEVISION. Well NYC Pride is ready for it's close-up. Be a part of NYC Pride history, and be at this year's NYC Pride March! Tell your relatives there's a chance for them to see you on the big screen from 12pm -3pm on ABC7!

4. The Outfits

If there is any excuse to dress up it is for NYC Pride this Sunday. Whether it be a rainbow leotard or pigtails, everyone takes part in this event by dressing up. This year's theme: 'We Are Proud,' will definitely involve a lot of great outfits and we are excited to be a part of it!

3. The Food

Today is not the day to be worrying about your summer bod ❌ The streets are going to be pouring with vendors and delicious food. Trust us, you won't want to miss out on the treats that are bound to be passed out on the streets of NYC during Pride.

2. LeAnn Rimes

Wait sorry what was that, LeAnn Rimes is performing at PrideFest this year?! Well Rimes is actually HEADLINING this year's LGBT street festival! We are sure to hear her huge hits like "Hoq Do I Live" and "Can't Fight The Moonlight." We may also hear her new dance club hit "Long Live Love," as seen at Denver Pride below!

In addition to LeAnn Rimes, the event will be hosted by Elvira Kurt with other performance by Ariana Fay, BETTY, Broadway Sings For Pride, Damion Anthony, Grapefruit Sound Lab, Johnathan Celestin, Phenom Risen, Reesa Renee and SISTERS. This all starts at 11am at 154 Christopher Street and it's going to be awesome!

1. The March

And finally #1 reason you should be at NYC Pride this Sunday is for The March! The first Pride March was held in 1970 😱 and has since become an annual 'civil rights demonstration.' Last year's Pride March had over 80 floats and was one of the largest in Pride history. This year you can catch KTU's float heading down 5th avenue starting at 36th and 5th!

We are going to have such a fun time and would love it if ALL of our listeners could be there to join us!
