Hair Studio In NJ Gives Free Hair Cuts To Homeless

It looked like any other busy day at ‘In His Image Hair Studio’ in Trenton, nj, except the cash register wasn't ringing. Diane and Antonio Bellamy closed their salon to regular customers on Monday and instead offered free services to the homeless and less fortunate.

Co-owner Antonio Bellamy spent the day making sure the clients were comfortable, offering bottled water and baked goods in between clippings, washings and treatments.

He said, "We just wanted to create a platform where we can welcome people in and do something to make them feel beautiful."

The hair studio partnered with the Salvation Army for the project and went out to the Rescue Mission and Trenton Area Soup Kitchen with business cards to make people aware of the services.

The "spoiling" didn't end with a new hairstyle. Clients were presented "swag bags" with toiletries and personal items, provided by Tonya Dessein, who runs the Zera Hayes Foundation, in honor of her grandmother.
