On behalf of Mexican Cultural Expression National Society (MECENAS), we invite you to join us for the fundraising campaign to help those affected by the recent earthquakes in Southern and Central Mexico. On September 7th, a magnitude 8.2 earthquake devastated several regions in the states of Oaxaca and Chiapas. On September 19th, a second quake, this time of magnitude 7.1, hit Morelos, Puebla, Estado de Mexico, Ciudad de Mexico and Guerrero. In this short time, hundreds of people have lost their lives and thousands of families and communities have been left without homes.
Please help a collation of community groups, families and individuals willing to create a bridge between the US and Mexico. Join us at La Boom (56-15 Northern Blvd., Woodside, NY 11377). We will be accepting cash, food and other donations.

MECENAS is a non-profit organization that promotes Mexican art and culture in the Tristate area. We support education initiatives that contribute to the development and integration of the Mexican Community.
As we face this tragic situation, our collaborators and friends call on the community to close ranks and combine our efforts in support of the many victims of the recent earthquakes. Only together can we gather the strength to help our Mexico.
