Amy Schumer Mom-Shamed For Going Back To Work 2 Weeks After Giving Birth

World Premiere Of "I Feel Pretty"

Amy Schumer welcomed her son, Gene Attell Fischer, with husband Chris Fischer earlier this month. Since Gene's arrival, the 37-year-old comedian has kept her fans up to date on her experiences as a new mother with a series of candid Instagram posts. She shared a photo from a stand-up set she performed at New York’s Comedy Cellar on Sunday evening and the backlash Amy received for going back to work already was swift.

The photo showed Amy on stage, mic in hand as she performed her set. "Pic from tonight...I'm back!" she captioned the post. While some of her followers praised the I Feel Pretty actress for getting back to work just two weeks after Gene was born, others were not so kind. Though she's been a mom for just 14 days, it's clear Amy has been quickly and unfortunately introduced to the world of mom-shaming.

"Jesus, Amy. Let the stitches dissolve first. I’m still on the couch and my youngest is three," one follower wrote."

"Already???? That’s insane!!! And inhumane. Contract or not you need to be allowed at least 6 weeks for maternity," another added.

"I’m sorry. What?! Didn’t you birth a human like 5 minutes ago?" one follower wrote.

"Like, I can still smell your placenta...take a damn break ffs," one added.

It didn't take long for Amy to fire back at her critics. The next morning, she shared a candid photo of herself pumping alongside a caption shouting out those who mom-shamed her. "Sending out love to the moms shaming me for doing stand up last night!"

After seeing Amy's post, a few of her famous friends jumped in to give her their support. "Who the fudge would shame a mom for doing what she does? And how the hell did you do it?" Selma Blair wrote on the post. "You're a rockstar," Demi Lovato commented. Meanwhile Aidy Bryant hilariously commented: "What's the big deal? Just let me try some of the [milk]."

Moral of the story? Don't mom-shame Amy Schumer. She will fire back in the most epic (and hilarious!) way.
