Nickelodeon Brings Krusty Krab, Spongebob Landmarks To Life At Comic Con

Ever wanted to embark on a nautical excursion through SpongeBob SquarePants' hometown? Dine in at the Krusty Krab? Get your boat driving license from Mrs. Puff herself? Nickelodeon is making it happen (sort of)! The cable channel and entertainment company brought the Bikini Bottom experience to life at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend.

Participants are given the opportunity to interactively explore a few key show landmarks while stocking up on exclusive merchandise along the way. Located in exhibition hall behind Lobby E in the San Diego Convention Center, viewers familiar with the program will feel right at home moving through the space and reliving their favorite child-hood (or current) cartoon.

The Krusty Krab, Chum Bucket and Mrs. Puff's Boating School seemingly have jumped off the screen and onto the exhibition floor. Although this life-size iteration of Mr. Krab's restaurant does not serve actual krabby patties to patrons, convention goers can participate in a burger building game against friends to see who can make the most in a set amount of time. Winners earn their name on a public leaderboard and the opportunity to join SpongeBob as "Employee of the Month" with photo evidence!

After taking a photo or selfie with SpongeBob in front of Mrs. Puff's Boating School, you are free to move along to Plankton's Krusty Krab competitor - the Chum Bucket. Exclusive comic-con merchandise is for sale at the booth.

In addition to some general items like t-shirts and socks, the stand features a "Nick 90's Fanny Pack" designed with iconic 1990's channel fixtures, physical replicas of some popular Patrick Star and SpongeBob SquarePants memes, and a sneak peek at an upcoming sneaker collaboration between the show and Nike. You can also grab an exclusive "Metallic Green Reptar" figurine. All items range in price between $6 and about $30.
