Ozzy Osbourne Cancels SXSW Film Festival Appearance Over Coronavirus Worry

Ozzy Osbourne has cancelled his upcoming appearance at the South By Southwest film festival over coronavirus concerns.

Ozzy was scheduled to support the world premiere of his A&E Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne at SXSW.

The documentary is a two-hour special exploring Ozzy's life and career from his humble beginnings in a working class family in Birmingham, England, to being the most recognizable heavy metal musician in the world.

The SXSW film festival runs from March 13 - March 21.

Ozzy has endured a myriad of health struggles over the past year-and-a-half, including a flu last winter that landed him in the hospital when it turned into pneumonia. Due to separate medical challenges, the Prince of Darkness recently called off his touring plans for the second year in a row.

Not long after Ozzy got out of the hospital last winter following his bout with pneumonia, his former guitarist Bernie Tormé passed away from the disease.

The COVID-19 virus has been described as like a "flu on steroids." Elderly people and people with respiratory issues are said to be at particular risk of the disease.
