Sam Asghari had nothing but great things to say about his ex, Britney Spears, and her "genius ideas" during an interview with Nick Viall of iHeartRadio podcast The Viall Files on Wednesday (February 12).
When asked how he felt about the "Circus" sensation's viral dancing videos, specifically the one where she spun around with knives in September 2023, The Traitors contestant revealed that he never restricted Spears from posting what she wanted during their marriage.
"I’m not someone that [would say], 'Let me take your phone from you and not allow you to do anything and restrict you from posting your own content.'"
He continued, comparing the creative to Micheal Jackson.
"What’s in her head is gold, and it’s what made her who she is." Asghari complimented the "Toxic" hitmaker for her "genius ideas … that somebody else wouldn’t have."
Spears and the NCIS actor were married from 2022 to 2024 and dated as the songstress fought to end her conservatorship (giving her father, Jamie Spears, total control of her "personal, financial and medical decisions") through 2021, per Page Six. Asghari made it clear that he supported Spears' desire to express herself however she wanted.
"When you take away the ability to make art, express yourself, I’m not going to be the one that’s gonna stop anybody from posting what they want — especially if dance is the way you express yourself."
