Anthony Ramos Discusses Hamilton and His New Song "New York City"

Anthony Ramos has done it all, from starring in Hamilton to blockbuster films and now producing the upcoming Bob the Builder movie, but during our interview, it was his sense of humor that completely stole the show.

While reflecting on the 10th anniversary of Hamilton, Anthony shared that he always knew the musical would be a hit because “the music was too good.” But instead of reminiscing about winning a Grammy, he admitted he doesn’t even know where his Grammy is. (Apparently, his mom may still have it sitting in a box somewhere!)

The conversation quickly spiraled into hilarious territory, with stories about getting scolded backstage during Hamilton, debating whether he’d ever return to the show, and somehow ending up on the topic of Puerto Rican flag banana hammocks. Yes, really.

Between laughs, Anthony opened up about his new song, “New York City,” revealing the emotional breakup that inspired it, his love for his hometown, and his excitement about bringing English-language salsa music to a new audience.

This was by far one of the funniest and most memorable interviews I’ve ever had and proof that Anthony Ramos is just as entertaining offstage as he is on it.
