In a sign of a return to normal, movie theaters will re-open in New York City on March 5th.
Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Monday that theaters will be allowed to open at 25% capacity with no more than 50 people per screen.
AMC Entertainment confirmed they'll reopen all 13 of their locations on March 5th. CEO AdamAron said, “Governor Cuomo’s announcement that movie theaters can reopen in New York City in the first week of March is another important step towards restoring the health of the movie theatre industry and of our company."
Theaters in New York City, which along with Los Angles is one of the nation’s two biggest movie markets, have remained shut for nearly a year.
