There Will Be No New Comedies on NBC This Fall

Believe it or not, but for the first time in 50 years, NBC will not debut a new comedy in its fall lineup. Instead, the network will choose to have a drama-heavy fall lineup with shows reminiscent of Law and Order and the Chicago series. Just because there won't be half-hour comedies in the fall lineup doesn't mean the company is giving up on comedies they've just concluded that "comedies haven't performed well on the network in the fall." The plan is to "double down" on comedies during the midseason of 2022. The final comedy to premiere this season will be Brooklyn Nine-Nine in August.
