The Amazin' Mets Foundation announced Tuesday that it will distribute 5,500 Thanksgiving turkeys to those in need on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Met, outfielder Mark Canha and members of the Mets organization will be onsite helping distribute turkeys across all five boroughs. The foundation will host in-person distributions at The River Fund of New York in Queens, New York Common Pantry in Manhattan, Part of the Solution in the Bronx, Project Hospitality in Staten Island, and Maimonides Park in Brooklyn. Friday's event comes as Mr. Met pitched in on Tuesday to load bags of goods into the truck donated by loyal Mets fans like Blanca and Ray Payone of Flushing, who received a voucher for two tickets for the 2023 season. They're some of the several fans who donated 10 items of food and, in exchange, received voucher tickets for MetsGiving.
