Wendy Williams fainted in the middle of her show Tuesday morning on live TV -- with hundreds in the studio and millions watching at home.
The talk show host was dressed as the Statue of Liberty for the annual How You Booin' Halloween Costume Contest edition of her show. Around 48 minutes into the show, in the middle of a sentence, she stuttered, got wobbly and quickly collapsed to the ground.
Producers acted quickly, cutting to black and then going to commercial. When the show returned, she explained that she'd overheated from the costume. She told the audience, "That was not a stunt... I overheated in my costume. I did pass out. But you know what, I'm a champ and I'm back."
The show later put out a statement that reads, "Wendy is feeling much better. She overheated because of her heavy costume, makeup and lights. She was able to finish the show in true Wendy spirit. She will address the incident on tomorrow’s show."
