Taylor Swift dropped a new song Thursday night. “Call It What You Want” pulls back the curtain on her romance with British actor Joe Alwyn.
Lyrics include “I’m laughing with my lover. Making forts undercovers.” Taylor admits in the song that she fell head-over-heals for Joe: “Brought a knife to a gun fight.” She immediately let down her defenses “I want to wear his initial on a chain around my neck, not because he owns me, but ‘cause he really knows me.”
Taylor confirms the timeline of their relationship by singing “I recall late November, holding my breath, slowly I said ‘you don’t need to save me, but would you runaway with me?’ YES!”
Her fans have connected the dots between “Call It What You Want” and the 2008 hit “Love Story.” In that song, she pleaded with her Romeo that they’ll become Prince and Princess if he’d “just say yes.” Apparently, Joe Alwyn did.
