Batman Surprises Boy Battling Rare Disease

posted by CMS -

Ashton Bridges, who happens to be battling a rare disease, just turned seven years old -- and had an amazing birthday adventure when he was visited at school by Batman, who arrived in the Batmobile.

The man who played Batman, John Buckland, heard about Ashton and wanted to do something to help raise awareness. So, John showed up at Ashton's school for a big surprise assembly with all the kids. After the assembly, Ashton was then given a chance to ride in the Batmobile.

And while John certainly brightened the day of Ashton -- and Ashton’s classmates -- John also felt great to have done something special for a special kid.

#Batman surprised 7-year-old Ashton Bridges at the SC #Comicon today. The Upstate boy is boy battling a rare disease that weakens the immune system and makes him vulnerable to childhood cancer. Looking great, Ashton!
