From September 15th to October 15th we're celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by spotlighting Hispanic Artists for their achievements and contributions to the Hispanic Community and Culture

 

#HispanicHeritageMonth Rapper Spotlight: Young M.A

Young M.A born Katorah Marrero was born April 3, 1992 to a Puerto Rican Father and a Jamaican Mother. Starting to write lyrics when she was 10 years old in her schoolboys her mother encourage her to follow her interests eventually leading to the young star creating a makeshift studio in her bedroom closet.

After steadily growing a following for years with various freestyles and youtube videos the rapper really broke onto the scene with her 4x Platinum hit "OOOUUU" back in 2016 also cracking the Billboard Hot 100's top 20. Young M.A gained the attention of the entire industry with the hit with an official remix dropping shortly after with the legendary 50 Cent and a ton of unofficial remixes coming from the likes of Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill, Jadakiss, A$AP Ferg, Remy Ma + more!

Since the release of her debut single she has been nominated for various awards including "Artist of The Year" & "Female Hip-Hop Artist Of The Year" at the BET & MTV awards. Young M.A has also been featured on a ton of magazine covers, global ad campaigns for the likes of Beats By Dre & even had a cameo role in Netflix's 2018 coming of age Hip-Hop movie "The After Party"!

In 2019 M.A released her debut studio album "Herstory in the Making" which was extremely well received by fans featuring the Gold record "Big" and cracking the top 20 on Billboard's 200 chart!
