Wendy Wild got to catch up with Ellie Goulding backstage before she CRUSHED the KTUPhoria stage on Saturday and the two got into the upcoming album, what normal people stuff Ellie does for fun and the things she takes away from other artists when they work together.
When asked about what's going on and what we can expect from her musically, Ellie comes right out and says she's "got a new song coming out in a couple of weeks" and it’s a collaboration. While Wendy tries to get her to tell us who the artist is that will be on this song, Ellie only gave us that "it’s a secret."
About when we can expect her fourth studio album, the UK singer says that it's coming out soon and "it’s getting there" which leads us to believe that she's still working on it.
When she's not in the studio, Ellie says that she likes boxing, watch movies, reading books and to simply just learn about stuff. "I like to travel…doing normal stuff like watching films" she says. She also says that while being on the road she's been keeping busy by learning piano, hanging out with friends and she also points out that she's "getting married soon" so the planning should also be keeping her busy.
When it comes to making connections with artists for her epic collaborations, Ellie says that she just goes for it. “I just ask, the worse than can happen is that they say no and I move on" she says. "My most recent collaboration, he definitely didn’t expect me to reach out" she continues.
On why she likes working with different artists and what she takes from them she says that "it’s important to keep pushing boundaries. "I think it’s important to be in the studio with people and learn from them…you’ve gotta keep moving things forward" she says.
