Gold Gate Bridge Finally Gets Suicide Net

The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco has been a popular place to go to for people who want to end their lives. In 2016, 40 people were killed and there were 200 failed attempts.  Finally, steps are being taking to stop this. A suicide net is being placed. The stainless steel net will hang 20 feet below the bridge and stretch 20 feet to either side. Officials are hoping the net will stop people from wanting to commit suicide. The project will cost $200 million and is set to be completed in 2021.
