Tilapa fish is not only delicious but now it can heal burns. Researchers at the Federal University of Ceara are say that the skin of the freshwater fish can be developed as a bandage for second- and third- degree burns. The scales of the tilapia fish speed up the healng process by several days and need fewer pain killers. Their experiments have shown that proteins in the fish skin have moisture-retaining properties, protein structure, disease resistance and flexibility that are similar to human skin.
