McDonald's has unveiled a, by its own admission, totally unnecessary utensil designed to help customers scoop up any deliciousness that may fall as they enjoy on of the fast food restaurant's new premium sandwiches.
It's called a Frork. And it's a fork-shaped thing with an opening where you can insert up to four french fries to serve as prongs.
Legendary TV pitchman Anthony Sullivan starred in McDonald's first-ever infomercial to announce the creation, which McDonald's is billing as a consumer problem-solving product -- "edible, utilitarian and desperately innovative." The Frork is compatible with all three of McDonald's new "Signature Crafted Recipes" sandwiches. So whether you want to devour a Pico Guacamole, Sweet BBQ Bacon or Maple Bacon Dijon sandwich, the Frork will make sure you get most of it in your mouth.
Frorks will be given away (while supplies last) at McDonald's locations nationwide on May 5 to customers who buy one of the new sandwiches.
