YOUR 2018 FLEET WEEK GUIDE

The 29th annual Fleet Week in NYC is taking place from now through Tuesday, May 29, 2018.

A range of New York venues host the weeklong itinerary of events for Fleet Week, including the New York Harbor, Pier 92 in Manhattan, USS The Sullivans Pier in Staten Island, Military Island (Broadway and 7th Avenue between 43rd and 44th Streets, in Times Square), Eisenhower Park, the Flagship Brewery and the Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Monument.

 

Here are some events you should check out and YES, they are all FREE:


Friday through Monday

General Public Ship Tours

Time: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Location: Pier 90 in Manhattan; Brooklyn Cruise Terminal (in the Red Hook Community) in Brooklyn; and Homeport Pier in Staten Island


General Public Ship Tours (Pier 86)

Time: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Location: Pier 86 (Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum) in Manhattan

Ship tours will be held on Pier 86. Notice to guests, electronic smoking devices are prohibited. Additionally, all guests over the age of 18 will be required to show a valid photo I.D.

Navy Dive Tank in Times Square

Time: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Location: Military Island, Times Square (43-44 St. Plaza)

U.S. Navy divers will dive in the Navy Dive Tank right in Times Square throughout the day. Come by and play tic-tac-toe, see their gear, take photos and learn about the U.S. Navy.


U.S. Coast Guard Silent Drill Team Performance

Time: 1 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Location: 9/11 Memorial Plaza

The U.S. Coast Guard Silent Drill Team will perform on the 9/11 Memorial Plaza. 


U.S. Marine Corps Martial Arts Program Demonstration

Time: 7:15 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.

Location: Military Island, Times Square (43-44 St. Plaza)

The U.S. Marine Corps will host a martial arts demonstration at Military Island in Times Square. 


Navy Band Concert

Time: 8 p.m. - 9:15 p.m.

Location: Military Island, Times Square (43-44 St. Plaza)

Navy Band Northeast's "Rhode Island Sound" will perform a concert at Military Island in Times Square.

Marine Day

Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Location: Prospect Park, Brooklyn

The U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) will host Marine Day in Prospect Park featuring workout with Marines, interactive and aviation static displays, demonstrations and a performance by the USMC Battle Color Detachment. 


Navy Dive Tank in Times Square

Time: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Location: Military Island, Times Square (43-44 St. Plaza)

U.S. Navy divers will dive in the Navy Dive Tank right in Times Square throughout the day. Come by and play tic-tac-toe, see their gear, take photos and learn about the U.S. Navy. 


Navy Aviation - Eisenhower Park

Time: 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Location: Eisenhower Park, East Meadow

The U.S. Navy will host an aviation event at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, NY. Navy Band Northeast's "Brass Band" will also perform. 


U.S. Coast Guard Silent Drill Team Performance

Time: 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Location: USS Arlington (LPD 24), Pier 90, Manhattan

The U.S. Coast Guard Silent Drill Team will perform aboard USS Arlington (LPD 24) at Pier 90 in Manhattan. 


All-Navy Rugby vs. NYPD All-Stars Rugby

Time: 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Location: Gaelic Park, 201 W. 240th St., Bronx

The All-Navy Rugby team will take on the NYPD All-Stars Rugby team.

 

Navy Band Concert

Time: 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Location: Military Island, Times Square (43-44 St. Plaza)

Navy Band Northeast's "Rhode Island Sound" will perform a concert at Military Island in Times Square. 


U.S. Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment Performance

Time: 8 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Location: Times Square (Father Duffy Square, 7th Ave & W 47th St.)

The U.S. Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment will perform in Times Square for the general public in front of the TKTS red steps.

Freedom Run

Time: 8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

Location: North Cove Marina to 9/11 Memorial Plaza

The annual Fleet Week Freedom Run is a 1.7 mile fun run through financial district and culminating at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza. The U.S. Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment will also perform following the run. 


U.S. Coast Guard Silent Drill Team Performance

Time: 9 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Location: 9/11 Memorial Plaza

The U.S. Coast Guard Silent Drill Team will perform on the 9/11 Memorial Plaza. 


10th Annual Veterans Appreciation Day & Memorial Tribute Event at Rye Playland

Time: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Location: Rye Playland, 1 Playland Park, Rye

Event will include military static displays and a ceremony in honor of Memorial Day. 


3rd Annual Fleet Week at Liberty State Park

Time: Noon - 5 p.m.

Location: Liberty State Park, 200 Morris Pesin Dr., Jersey City, NJ

Join the U.S. Navy (USN), U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) as they showcase the latest capabilities of today's maritime services. Event will include a performance by Navy Band Northeast's "Brass Band," USN Dive Tank, USMC Martial Arts Program demonstration, USCG Search and Rescue demonstration, military static displays, kids activities, and more!


Annual Fleet Week Music Festival

Time: Noon - 7 p.m.

Location: Flagship Brewery, 140 Minthorne St., Staten Island

The Flagship Brewery and community members will host their annual music festival in honor of Fleet Week. Local bands scheduled to perform.

Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Day Observance

Time: 10 a.m. - noon

Location: Manhattan, New York (Riverside Dr. & 89th St.)

Annual Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony will take place at Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument in Manhattan. 


Intrepid Memorial Day Commemoration

Time: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Location: Manhattan, New York (12th Ave. & 46th St. Pier 86N)

Honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice serving in the armed forces. Join hundreds of veterans, representing wars and conflicts from WWII to the present.  


U.S. Coast Guard Silent Drill Team Performance

Time: 1 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Location: Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Pier 86, Manhattan

The U.S. Coast Guard Silent Drill Team will perform at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in Manhattan. 


U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue Demonstration

Time: 2 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Location: Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Pier 86, Manhattan

U.S. Coast Guard will conduct a Search and Rescue demonstration in the vicinity of the water off of Pier 86 for visitors to see.
