MTA Abandons $3 Subway Swipe Plan, But Costs Are Still Rising

Phew?!  Well, maybe not so fast.  After holding their meeting to discuss the pending fare hike, the MTA Board ultimately vetoed the $3 swipe for buses and subways.

The bad news.  The costs are still going up for commuters, and here is the breakdown.

- The base fare stays at $2.75

- However there will be a cut in the round trip bonus (down to 5% from 11%.)

- The plan will also increase fares for monthly and weekly riders.  The weekly unlimited MetroCard will increase to $32, from $31, and a 30-day pass will increase to $121 from $116.50.

Everyone get out your calculators!  Let's figure out how to make this work... unless we can somehow beam ourselves to work.  Thoughts?

This is literally all of us.

So yeah, teleportation it is.
