Long Island Couple Married 70 Years, Die Just Hours Apart

It's a love story for the ages.

Ruth and William met and fell in love before World War II, then married in 1946 after Karl’s return from the war. The couple raised three children in their New Hyde Park, Long Island home.

On January 27, they died within 10 hours of each other at the apartment they shared in an assisted living facility.  The couple's son believes that his father 'was staying around' to help his mother who had trouble getting on in recent years.
