As of this moment, this incident is being treated as an accident, but the story is still developing.  

Update (12:22pm).  

Our reporter is now on scene.  He reports that it does not appear to be intentional...no indication of a bomb, etc.  Cops on scene.  Unconfirmed reports that the driver has been arrested.

One reportedly killed in addition to multiple injuries.

7th Avenue is obviously closed right now between 45th and 46th.

Update (12:26pm). 

The number injured increased to 20 with one fatality.  The driver has prior arrests for DWI.

TIMES SQUARE, Manhattan — A car crashed onto a busy sidewalk in Times Square Thursday.

The crash happened at Broadway and West 45th Street at about 12 p.m., according to witness accounts and photos posted online.

We hear that Governor Cuomo is headed to the scene and that President Trump is aware of the incident and following the situation carefully.  

ABC News is reporting that this was a high speed collision where the vehicle was driving at a high speed the wrong way down a heavily populated area.
