Subway 'Arrow Mats' To Make Their Debut

From Gothamist

Subway analysts say "dwell time"—the amount of time a train spends in a station as passengers enter and exit—is a major factor in subway delays.

The solution? The MTA slowly introducing these dandy little arrow mats to remind straphangers to step all the way in and not crowd the doors.

What really had me were some of the comments on this article:

If they really want this to work, these mats should give off a mild electric shock if they're stood on for too long.

LOL!  Will this work to decrease delays?  What do you think? Currently they're being tested on a few C trains, but be prepared for them to roll out on other lines soon.
