September 19th is International Talk Like A Pirate Day! Ahoy, Matey! Did you know that today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day? It's a day just for fun, a day to let out the pirate in each of us. John Baur and Mark Summers created the concept of International Talk Like a Pirate Day on June 6, 1995. While playing racquetball, they began to talk to each other in "Pirate-speak." After leaving the court, they decided that there was a need to create this day.
September 19 is now known internationally as Talk Like A Pirate Day.
How does one celebrate such a holiday? For one, switch up the language on your Facebook profile to English (Pirate) and hit up SpeakPirate.com to translate.
Save some loot by grabbing free food at Long John Silver's. You just need to come dressed like Captain Hook. Apparently some people are REALLY into this.
